New construction

Forever home

Custom homes are one of our specialties. Our diverse skills allow us to build just about anything. This is a beautiful and roomy 6,710 square foot custom home. It features four full baths and one half bath, six bedrooms—including a master suite with a walk-in closet—a great room, a den, a mudroom, a foyer, an open concept kitchen, a living room, a dining area, a reading room, a two story sunroom, a first floor exercise room, and an oversized two car garage.

Renovation

The lake house

Perched on a steep slope overlooking Sebago Lake, this lakeside house exudes relaxation and tranquility. Updates and modifications to the interior and exterior of the building made it into the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of nearby Greater Portland and added “luxurious” to its long list of enviable characteristics. We fully modernized the building by updating its exterior, finishing its basement, and completely renovating its interior. The striking results do justice to this gem of a property.

Renovation

The historic house

In some ways renovations are at the heart of what we do. Patrick, the owner of Mindful Building, was a renovation carpenter for the first ten years of his career. This was therefore an exciting project to take on: a beautiful historic home in need of extensive repair and updates. The building had had many owners over the years and a lot of the work that was started wasn’t properly finished. The challenges were many. We first spent time with the owners, who had a very clear vision of what they wanted the property to become. We helped them navigate the many available options and come up with a concrete plan. In the end, the transformation was impressive.

Happy clients

I've had Patrick Landers build two sets of apartment buildings for me so far and they have been great! I'm working on a third six-unit development with Patrick now. He and his crew have been awesome, professional and honest. They integrate well in working with my staff, city planning staff and my vendors. Looking forward to the next project!

—Ray C., Portland

We found Patrick and all the other members of the Mindful Building team such a pleasure to work with as they re-sided our seventy-year-old house last January and February. They worked cheerfully in daunting conditions, and it was fun having them around every day. Plus, the results are awesome! We would happily hire them again for any building project, large or small!

—Janet R., Portland

The Mindful Building team renovated the front porch and side deck on our two-unit house in Portland with such speed that we hardly noticed they were there. They went about the job with great efficiency and professionalism and were a pleasure to interact with. Patrick listened to all our concerns and respected our opinions and preferences. We were completely satisfied and plan to hire them for all our future home renovations. We recommended their services to our neighbor, and they will start renovating her house in less than a month.

—Steve W., Portland

We have a garage indeed! Patrick, you rocked this out! It exceeds our expectations, and we couldn't be happier.

—Lynne D., Old Orchard Beach

Patrick and his team truly live up to their company name. In all my years of working in the skilled trades business I've never come across a team of more authentic, honest and thoughtful builders. Mindful Building is a rare gem in these times—you will not be disappointed!

—Abby B., Portland

These guys rock—talented, responsible, fair and kind!

—John C., Portland

Mindful Building. What can we say. The scheduling of contractors and materials was done with such precision. The huge amount of work completed in such a short time is a testament to what a great crew they are. My inputs were always welcome, and they couldn't have done a better job! They were respectful, accommodating and kept the property clean throughout the project. We were never impacted by their work. We couldn't be happier.

—Dave D., Old Orchard Beach

We used Mindful Building to replace our roof and change our current clapboard siding over to vinyl siding. The weather was terrible most of the month, but the crew persevered, and worked weekends when it was nice, to complete our project. They were very professional, friendly, and safe during the COVID epidemic. Earl was our project manager, and was on top of any calls or concerns we had. Thank you Patrick and your crew for doing an A+ job!
